American Airlines, founded on April 15, 1926, is base Dallas Ft. Worth Texas and Chicago O'hare, Illinois. It is the world's largest airline measured by fleet size, revenue, scheduled passenger-kilometers flown and number of destinations served.

American Airlines together with its regional partners operates and extensive domestic and international network with an average of nearly 6,700 flights per day. It is a founding member of One World Alliance. Most international flights operated by American are transatlantic and Latin American flights. It has recently acquired US Airways and also TWA in the 90's.
