Turkish Airlines with base in Istanbul Ataturk and Istanbul Sabiha Gocken Airport is the flag carrier of Turkey. As of July 2015, it operates scheduled services to 290 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, making it the fourth-largest carrier in the world by number of destinations as of 2014.  Istanbul Ataturk is the main hub. Turkish Airlines is a member of Star Alliance since 2008.

As of 2017, Turkish has a total of 334 aircraft (passenger and cargo) with a mix of Airbus A330-300, A330-200, A340-300, A319-100, A320-200, A321-200, Boeing 737-700, 737-800, 737-900ER, 777-300ER.

Turkish Airlines won the Skytrax awards for Europe's Best Airline, Southern Europe's Best Airline, and World's Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat for three consecutive years in 2011-2013.
