SCOOT is a Singapore base low cost airline owned by Singapore Airlines. It launched flights in 2012 using the old Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-200ER for flights on medium haul flights to Australia, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

Now Scoot operates a new generation aircraft from Boeing. They have both Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9. The dreamliner is the current work horse of Scoot. It is owned by Singapore Airlines under the trade name of Budget Aviation Holdings together with Tigerair Singapore which is also wholly owned by Singapore Airlines. The business model of Scoot is to market long haul flights offering low fares. In 2016, Scoot and Tigerair has been merged under the Scoot brand. It will allow both airlines to achieve synergies in fare costs and revenue under the same Air operator's certificate.
