Trying Philippine Airline's Premium Economy from Cebu to Manila
Last November 2016, I had the chance to try out Philippine Airlines Premium Economy Service from Cebu to Manila. One way fare is around 5,000 pesos. It is quite expensive specially for a budget traveller, but the experience is great. You have the feeling of being served by world class cabin crew of PAL. PAL has one of the best cabin crew reputation with the warmth smile and accommodating approach to passengers. I believe it's about the good hospitable attitude of being a Filipino that they are following.
It was an on time flight with a very short flight for just one hour. I got the chance to get into the Mabuhay Lounge. The lounge in Cebu Airport is quite small nowadays as PAL is ramping up their flights out of Cebu, for domestic services. Also PAL has its own international lounge as they are also using Cebu as their secondary hub.
Once on board, I was greeted by one of the cabin crew with her radiant smile. Once seated which is at the front of the aircraft, I find the legroom being generous for a short to medium haul flight. So, what's included on the ticket you've paid for? Premium Economy passengers are entitled for a 30 kilos of baggage, priority baggage tagging and boarding, access to the lounge, hot sandwich and a choice of drink and 125% of mileage accrual if you have mabuhay miles. It maybe expensive, but the convenience of flying domestic is a plus side. Good luck if there are only handful of passenger on this class, you got treated very well.
Overall, I had another great flying experience with PAL. My baggage came first when we arrived at NAIA Terminal 2. Also, service is really important compare with other competitor in this sector. It is true that PAL offers a higher rate compare to Cebu Pacific and Air Asia. But if you're after convenience, the feeling of being secured, I believe PAL would be your option.
